Preparing for Interview
Telephone Screening
Make sure you are in a quiet place where you are able to take the call without any interruptions. If you are on a mobile, ensure you are in a place where you have plenty of reception. Make sure you are prepared to answer questions about reasons for applying, role specific questions and questions about your credit and criminal history.
You will need to give details of your previous employers for the previous five years, so make sure that you have names, dates and contact details for these employers and referees.
Be honest with your answers, we ask basic questions on credit and criminal history and if the role you are applying for requires it, we will complete a credit and/or criminal history check on applicants so you must let us know of any discrepancies at the screening stage.
Before the Interview:
Before coming to the interview at moneysupermarket.com ensure you have researched our company, products and competitors thoroughly so that you can answer any questions about us the interviewers may ask. You can find plenty of information on our careers site as well as our corporate site:
http://corporate.moneysupermarket.com
and of course
www.moneysupermarket.com
!
Ensure you have read through the role profile in great detail so you know exactly what the role entails before meeting the hiring managers and note down any questions about our company or the role that you want to ask at the interview.
Arrive at our offices with at least 15 minutes to spare to ensure you are able to park and report to reception in plenty of time. Dress smartly for your interview. We operate a ‘business casual’ dress policy.
The Interview
The most important thing to remember for any interview is that you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, greet all employees you come across with respect.
When meeting the interviewers have a good handshake and keep eye contact throughout the interview, listen carefully throughout the interview and answer all questions asked.
Always take a copy of your CV to the interview so you can reflect on what you have put in it. Our interviews are competency based so make sure reflect on past experiences with your answers, whether they are from previous employment or experiences you have encountered in University or throughout education. Take your time and think carefully about an example to use when answering questions, don’t worry if you can’t think of something there and then, you can always go back to the question.
Remember to sell yourself at the interview but be honest and don’t be tempted to exaggerate your skills and experiences.
Finally...
