Preparing your CV
Here are some useful hints and tips when submitting your CV to moneysupermarket.com to help us identify your key skills and determine where in our organisation you will work best in.
General Information
- Keep your CV simple, it shouldn’t be longer than 2 sides of A4. Your CV should get straight to the point and be easy to read and pick up on your skills and abilities. Make sure you sell yourself for the role that you are applying for, use persuasive language but keep the language true to what you would say yourself, don’t use large words that you wouldn’t usually use
- Keep your CV age neutral; we don’t need to know your date of birth or the dates you were in education. Put employment dates for the last five years.
- Make sure you put your name and contact details on the CV, when putting a phone number on your CV make sure it’s one that our recruiters can contact you on during the day or leave you a message.
- Your CV should be clean looking and easy to read so don’t use any colours or pictures; use a clear font like Arial or Times New Roman.
- Add a little bit about yourself on the CV but we don’t need to know the ins and outs of your personal life, i.e. marital status/family status etc
Educational Background
- Your CV should list your most recent and relevant educational qualifications and any extra achievements that you feel will benefit your application for the role.
- Dates of when you completed your G.C.S.E’s are irrelevant if you went on to further education and/or have a substantial career history, so please don’t put these on.
- We will be interested in any relevant professional qualifications, so remember to include full details.
Career Background
- Start with your most recent role and work backwards from here. List your current responsibilities and achievements in detail and summarise the older roles. Make sure that you list all the responsibilities you’ve had within your roles that are relevant to the role you are applying to moneysupermarket.com.
- Provide details of any projects or accomplishments you’ve done or had experience of within your roles that endorse your application.
Finally...
- Make sure you check, double check and triple check spelling and grammar! If attention to detail is a requirement for the role CVs can be screened out for grammatical errors.
- When adding a cover letter with your application make sure you include your salary expectation and notice period.
And Last But Not Least...
- Good Luck! We look forward to reviewing your application soon!
