In aid of MoneySuperMarket’s charity – Mind, 12 of our extraordinarily brave team members trekked to the highest heights of Mount Kilimanjaro, and conquered it together!
Employees from both the Ewloe and London office, teamed up to take on their biggest physical challenge yet. If it wasn’t for the support and encouragement given by each individual, reaching the peak of Kili may not have been imaginable. So a massive well done to all! What an achievement to summit in such harsh conditions and in such a short time. In addition to the victory of the summit, the team managed to raise a whopping £47,375, and counting!
We hear from a few of the great achievers in their own words about their overall experience:
Jamie – “It was one the most challenging things I have done both physically and mentally but extremely rewarding. It helped having a great group of people who helped each other alongJ”
Ellie. J-P – “I never imagined it was going to be as hard as it was… the final night especially where we summited in the freezing cold, with no sleep and completely exhausted… you just had to push yourself to keep going, to keep putting one foot in front of the other. The relief and complete elation at reaching the top made it all worth it.”
Dan. H – “Climbing Kilimanjaro was the toughest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but with that comes the feeling of it also being the most rewarding thing I’ve ever accomplished. I’m so happy to have fought the tough conditions that the mountain dishes out in order to make it to the summit, and very proud in being part of the team of 12 who together fundraised over £47,000 in aid of Mind. It’s a testament to our family, friends and colleagues, as well as what we can achieve as a team working winning together.”
Anna. S – ‘’This was one of the most amazing experiences and even surpassed my expectations. As a 1st time mountain climber, I asked myself numerous times “what was I thinking?”. It has turned out to be of my best adventure trips ever. Kilimanjaro is mystical, magical and awesome! The beauty of Kilimanjaro from the rain forest to the glaciered summit makes the climb worth it in itself. Climbing Kilimanjaro was made even easier and more enjoyable with the fantastic MSM team, without them I don’t think it would have even been possible!’’
Sarah. J- “Kili was an absolutely amazing experience that really pushed me far beyond my boundaries both physically and mentally. I’m incredibly proud of what I and the team have achieved and humbled by the huge amount of support we had both during the climb from the guides and porters to everyone back home. The MSM kili team made the trip for me, they are a crazy group of people who through laughter and music made the trip something to treasure.”
