We're a social bunch here at moneysupermarket.com and we enjoy loads of great nights out as well as social events in the office. That's down to the huge effort made by the volunteers on the Social Team, who work tirelessly to ensure we never go too long without some fun.
Our community support doesn't just stop with our charity of the year. We make regular donations to local grassroots projects so that we can be confident we have a really positive effect on our community.
A volunteer group of moneysupermarket.com employees seek out great local causes, and the enthusiasm and energy of the whole team in supporting the community has been huge.
This year alone, we have supported a number of charities, including Save the Family, Spinal Research, Claire House, Chester Performs, Waverton Pre-School, The Welsh Scout Council, Clwyd Crimebeat, Money Advice Trust, Friends of Harwarden High School, Huntingdon's Disease Associaition, Miles of Smiles and Cheathams School of Music.
Our funds provided everything from new craft kit for autistic children to Christmas treats for homeless families. A moneysupermarket.com career means joining a company that really gives something back to its community and we are all really proud of what we do.
As a company that primarily focuses on helping people make the most of their money, we do more than just donate cash. moneysupermarket.com works with the North Wales Financial Capability Forum and with Flintshire Trading Standards.
We've been involved in surgeries to help people with loans and debt. We've also worked with Deeside Citizens Advice to help people struggling with fuel poverty.
That's on top of the advice and support the company provides through its news pages and in the moneysupermarket.com forum.
Community editor Graeme Delap said: "Our forum provides a secure environment where consumers can ask each other questions about financial products. It encourages them to share opinions and help others find answers and shines a light on the more confusing corners of financial products."
"There's really no substitute for getting the expert opinion of someone who's bought a product from a provider. They can tell you exactly what they think of it and why they bought it. Our forum members supported thousands through the savings crisis of 2008 and regularly help those struggling to come to terms with debt, insurance claims, tricky mortgage questions and how to save money on their household finances."
